I understand that dance classes may include, without limitation, dancing with props, stretching, barre work, across the floor combinations, dance routines in the center, and other related activities. I further understand that all of the activities of the dance class involve some degree of risk or strain or bodily injury. As the legal parent or guardian, I release and hold harmless Ruckus Dance Alliance, its owners, and instructors from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or any premises under the control and supervision of Ruckus Dance Alliance, its owners, or instructors, or en route to or from any of said premises.
Tuition, Fees, and Payment Policies for Classes held Sept-June:
All fees may be paid by cash, check, or credit card.
There is a $30 registration fee due for the first student from each family; sibling registration fees are $20 each.
Monthly tuition payments are based on total tuition for the year, not the number of classes your child attends per month. Recreational students will make 9 equal monthly tuition payments from September - May. Competitive students will make 10 equal monthly tuition payments from August - May.
All families must have a current credit card on file. Tuition will be posted by the 1st of each month. Families may pay tuition by cash, check, or charge any time themselves before the 5th of the month. Otherwise, on the 5th of the month any outstanding tuition or other fees due will be charged to the credit card on file. If the credit card is declined for any reason, the family contact will be informed and payment must be made and updated by the 10th of the month. After the 10th of the month, a late fee of 10% of the payment due will be added to the balance. If there is a hardship, please speak to the office as early as possible. Overdue accounts may result in students being unable to participate in class until the account is brought up to date.
A 10% tuition discount will be given for tuition for siblings. The sibling(s) with the lower tuition bill(s) will be discounted.
A $25 fee will be due for any returned checks.
No refunds or credits will be given for any classes missed, including snow days.
If a student leaves the program or drops a class, applicable tuition payments will not be charged starting with the first month following the date that written notice is received that the student is discontinuing the class or program. This includes being unable to participate due to injury. If tuition has been paid in full for the year, no refunds will be given.
Every dancer will participate in our end-of-year Recital. Costumes will be selected
by the teachers and will include all clothing items, tights, and accessories EXCEPT shoes. Please consult with the studio before purchasing any shoes. Costume fees are due Nov 1 and are as follows:
Fairytale Dancers: $65 per class
Tots: $80; one costume will be selected with interchangeable pieces so the costume can be used for both the tap and ballet routines.
Minis: $85 per class
Juniors: $85 per class
Teens: $90 per class
Competitive dancers: $90 down payment per class (due Oct 1); balance due Feb 1
There will be no refunds for costume payments, including if a student withdraws from a class.
Each family is required to pay a recital fee of $100 to cover the cost of the recital facility, and its required staff. This also includes a digital download of the recital video. This fee will be due April 1.
Dress Code for Recreational Dancers: All dancers will wear black or pink dance clothing to all classes. Clothing should be form-fitting for all classes with the exception of hip hop, in which baggy clothing is allowed. To simplify things for you, we have an online shop with everything you need to outfit your dancer organized into easy lists to choose from. You can shop at www.shopnimbly.com/ruckus and your items will be delivered to the studio. You can also shop on your own for pink and black dancewear.
Dress code for Competitive Dancers: All dancers will wear black dance clothing to all classes. Clothing must be form-fitting for all classes. Baggy clothing is not allowed in any class.
All dancers should wear their hair pulled back off their face and secured in a ponytail, bun, or braids. There should be no loose hair hanging in the area of the face. Competitive dancers may have ponytails in stretch and strength classes only.
Attendance is expected in all classes. If for any reason a student will be absent from a class, please report the absence using the "Report an Absence" Form on the Portal page of the Ruckus website. If a student will be absent due to a school event, please notify the studio as early as possible. Choreography will continue with students that are present in class. If a dancer misses a class, the dancer is responsible for learning the choreography for that class BEFORE the next class by viewing their class video on the BAND app. A student may be removed from parts of a dance due to excessive absences, to be determined by the instructor and studio owner.
No cell phones will be allowed in the classroom unless they are being used to record choreography with the instructor's permission. Cell phones should remain in the lobby, either with a student's belongings or in the cell phone bank on the office door.
Parents will be permitted to observe classes during specially designated times. At all other times, parents and other guests are welcome to sit in the lobby so that dancers can give their full, undivided attention to their instructor.
In the event of inclement weather, please check the Ruckus Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or BAND app for announcement about any studio closure announcements. Please note that we do NOT automatically follow school closings.
Primary communication from the studio will come in the form of emails. Please make sure that we have your current email address on file and check your inbox regularly.
Due to the fact that classes are age- and genre-specific and each class has its own choreography, no make-up classes will be given for any missed classes. No refunds will be given for missed classes.
Label all dance shoes and other personal items. Do not bring valuables to the studio. There is a Lost and Found box at the studio, but the studio is not responsible for any lost or missing items.
Students may not leave the studio between classes without written parent permission.
Security cameras are located in public areas for safety and security.
Please pick up your child from inside the studio or by pulling your car up to the front door. Young dancers must be picked up inside the studio. Dancers will not be permitted to wait outside the studio to be picked up.
Do not drop off young dancers without parental supervision more than 5 minutes before their scheduled class time.
