Release of Liability
In consideration of permitting my child(ren) to participate in classes or activities offered by The Arbor Learning Community, I, the undersigned, in full recognition and appreciation of the dangers and hazards inherent in this activity, do hereby agree to assume all the risks and responsibilities surrounding his/her/their participation; and, further I hereby defend, hold harmless, indemnify, and release, and forever discharge The Arbor Learning Community and all its trustees, officers, representatives, agents, employees, and volunteers from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action, on his/her/their participation in classes or activities, and which result from causes beyond the control of, and without the fault or negligence of The Arbor Learning Community, its trustees, officers, representatives, agents or employees, during the period of my participation as aforesaid.
Medical Emergencies
I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian of the student(s) I am registering, do hereby request that my child(ren) be permitted to participate in any class or activity sponsored by The Arbor Learning Community. Should the need arise, I do hereby authorize and consent to any X-ray examination, anesthetic, and medical or surgical diagnosis rendered under the general or special supervision of any member of the medical and emergency room staff licensed under the provisions of the Medicine Practice Act, Dentist licensed under the provisions of the Dental Practice Act, and/or the Department of Public Health. It is understood that this authorization is given in advance of any specific diagnosis, treatment, or hospital care being required, but is given to provide authority and power to render care that the aforementioned physician in the exercise of his or her best judgment may deem advisable. It is understood that treatments will not be withheld if the undersigned cannot be reached. I will not hold liable The Arbor Learning Community, its officers, or employees for medical aid rendered and will reimburse The Arbor Learning Community for medical or other expenses incurred in the care of my child(ren). This authorization is given pursuant to Section 25.8 of the Civil Code of California and remains effective only for the student(s) registered. The Arbor Learning Community does not pay physician fees or medical expenses of students who are injured at classes or activities held by The Arbor Learning Community.
Payment Policies and Financial Responsibility
Registration for Fullerton classes authorizes The Arbor to charge to the family's credit card on file the non-refundable annual family registration fee of $75 (reduced to $25 from Nov 2020 to Jan 1, 2021) the first time a family registers during a school year. No registration fee is charged to families only registering for Arbor Online Summer or whose children are only on wait lists.
Registration of Fullerton high school classes authorizes The Arbor to charge the $50 per class enrollment fee to your card on file at the time of registration. The enrollment fee is non-refundable two weeks after registration. Families paying 100% privately may reduce their payment by the $50 per class; families paying with any charter fees, and whose child is still enrolled in the class in March 2021, will have the enrollment fee returned or rolled over for the following year. No enrollment fees will be applied to Arbor Online High School classes for the 2020-2021 school year.
Payment for Arbor Online Summer classes is due at the time of registration; charter funds may not be used. Parents are requested to log into the Parent Portal to make their payment after registration is complete.
Registration in year-long classes (high school, twice/week math and twice/week foreign language) requires any private payment portion of the year-long fee to be paid within 14 days of registration; charter purchase orders are due on August 13th for four fall months and December 10th for five spring months; no re-registration is needed for year-long classes.
Families with a private payment portion for Fullerton and Arbor Online Friday classes should log into the Parent Portal after registration is complete to make a payment. Registration will be secured with private payment, due 14 days after registration, and/or purchase orders (not applicable for Arbor Online Summer), which are due by Thursday, August 13th for fall and December 10th for spring. Students registering late may not attend class until payment or charter school purchase orders have been received.
Failure to communicate intended payment method within 14 days of registration, submit payment within 14 days of registration, and/or submit purchase orders by the due dates may result in registered classes being dropped.
Small classes are subject to cancellation; any classes cancelled by The Arbor will be refunded in full.

*The Arbor's Drop, Change, and Refund Policies apply to ALL Arbor families. When paying with charter funds, if some or all of the fees are not paid for by the charter school for any reason, families are responsible for any remaining amount not paid for by their charter school. Since we are incorporating online accessibility and flexibility into our planned 2020-2021 classes so that students can keep up with learning remotely if needed, please note that if students are unable to attend some or all in-person classes, or if classes are moved online for any portion of the session or year, we will not be able to make exceptions to the above Drop, Change, and Refund Policies. Any family not in good financial standing will need office approval prior to registering for any upcoming session.
