Attire requirements differ per class. All female students should have their hair pulled back out of her face and be free of distracting jewelry for all classes.
For Ballet/Pointe- Dancers will need a solid BLACK leotard and pink or black tights ONLY. Canvas ballet shoes are required for performance. (If you have your own shoes you may wear these in class but are required to purchase canvas/leather shoes before show time so that every student is the same).
For Jazz & Tap- Dancers are required to wear either a solid colored leotard, any color tights or a tank top with tight dance pants, dance shorts, or dance skirt. Color and style of jazz shoe will differ in level and must be purchased before performance time. Most likely, dancers will need tan jazz/tap shoes.
Pre-Combo- Dancers are required to wear a solid colored leotard, and tights. Pink, black, or tan tights are permissible. Tight dance pants, skirts, and tutus are allowed for these students! Pink ballet slippers and tan tap shoes are worn for performance.
For Lyrical- Dancers are required to wear a solid colored leotard, any color tights or a tank top with tight dance pants, dance shorts, or dance skirt. Socks will be worn during class. Shoes for performance-TBA.
All dancers will be featured in the annual recital at the end of the year. Our recital date will be announced in the fall. The performance will be held at the Smith Cotton Heckart Performing Arts Center! Due to the cost of producing the recital, there is a $50 non-refundable recital fee per family due October 31st. Performance tickets will be available for purchase.
Costume Fees are due Decemeber 15th, 2015. A deposit (one-half of your total costume fee) is due by October 1st and will be added to your monthly tuition charge. The balance will be due on December 15th, 2015 along with your monthly tuition. Costume fees are non-refundable past December 15, 2015. Extra shipping charges of $10 per costume will be added to the costume fee if a costume is ordered late. Alternate costume payments may be arranged at the front desk but all costume fees are due by December 15, 2015.
If you are in a Pre-Combo class, Ballet I, II, or Jazz/Tap I, II the cost for recital costumes is $65.00 per child. If you are in Ballet III, IV, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz III IV, Tap III, IV, the fee for recital costumes is $85.00 per child. IF dancers are in more than one recital class per week, they need to make a costume payment for each class.
Tights must be purchased at SADC for ALL SADC PERFORMANCES. THIS IS MANDATORY- TIGHTS ARE $12 AND YOU MAY PRE-PURCHASE YOURS WITH YOUR COSTUME PAYMENTS.
Measuring week- I will be measuring each student in their scheduled class at the end of October for costuming ordering purposes.
Costumes are ordered by Nov/Dec but not received until the spring. ALL costumes will be distributed (if they are in) to each student during Parent Watch week in May.
