Liability & Release
I hereby agree for the participant to engage in the dance, performance, and exercise classes given by The Landing Dance Company and I represent to The Landing Dance Company that the participant is physically capable of participating in a vigorous cardiovascular exercise program and that, to the extent necessary in light of prior health history, weight and physical condition, I have consulted a personal physician or other health authority before making such representation. I recognize the risk of illness and injury inherent in any dance or exercise program and I am allowing the participant to take part in The Landing Dance Company's program upon the express agreement and understanding that I am hereby waiving and releasing The Landing Dance Company before participating in any of its programs of any change in the participant's physical condition which might in any way adversely affect their ability to participate in the program safely. I hereby execute and deliver this waiver and release to induce The Landing Dance Company to permit my participation in this program. Registrants also consent to the use of registered student's name, photograph(s) and video (that may include them) for occasional advertising and/or promotions of Fine Arts Dance. Such material includes but is not limited to: social media, in-studio advertising, newspapers, television, web design, advertisement and columns.
Registrants also consent for The Landing Dance Company to sign media release forms on their behalf for events in which the registrant is a participant.
Attendance, Participation & Make Up Classes
Students must arrive at least 10-15 minutes before class. Instructors reserve the right to prevent a student from participating if they are late for class. The Landing Dance Centre fully understands that students enroll in other activities. However, we expect a level of commitment from each student in order for them to progress and develop within their class. If classes are missed due to a student taking on other commitments, then their place in dance class may not be guaranteed. This is very important during performance preparation. The Landing Dance Centre has the right to dismiss any student from class or from the studio if the student is disrupting the class or disrespecting the schools policies.
Studio Dress Code & Etiquette
It is important that every student feels like a dancer when attending classes. Therefore, correct uniform must be worn at all times in order for them to dance with confidence, poise, and to their full potential. Dancers not meeting the required dress code may not be permitted to participate in class. Hair must be neatly secured off the face and neck for all classes. Dancers should arrive dressed for class with all necessary accessories and shoes in a dance bag. The dancers name should be on every item, especially shoes and bags. The Landing Dance Centre will not be responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced items. No jewelry, chewing gum, food or drinks, (other than water) are allowed in either the studio, or bathrooms. Please do not send younger children to class with toys or costumes. This is unfair to other dancers who abide by the dress code. No jeans are to be worn to any class, at any time, including Hip Hop. Respect for the director, instructors, staff, studio curriculum and fellow dancers is EXPECTED of all dancers, parents and siblings. The reception and viewing area is available to parents while students are attending class and to dancers waiting for their class to begin. This is in review under Covid policies from September 1st 2020, until further notice. All young children must be supervised by a responsible adult. The Landing Dance Centre is not responsible for any injuries, or for children left at the studio unsupervised, before or after class. We ask that parents of young children not 'hang out' at the studio doors as this is very distracting to the dancers and instructors in the class. It encourages the children to look to the parents and not focus on the instructor. It also makes the more anxious child upset if their parent is not within sight. There will be opportunities throughout the year for parents to watch and participate in their child's class. All instructors and staff are approachable and sensitive to any queries or problems that may arise. We are always open for feedback and we request that client request forms are filled out for any concerns, to be addressed by staff, management or teachers.

Cancellation Policy
The Landing Dance Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes with posted notification 24 hours prior to respective class time, or with a phone call. I understand that there is a three person minimum in order for a class to be conducted and any class continuing with fewer than three dancers is done so at the teacher's discretion, (this rule does not apply to private lessons).
Withdrawal & Refund Policy
Should you choose to withdraw from a full-year program or class prior to October 15th (or half-year program or class prior to February 15th), no payments will be refunded, but no further payments will be taken. Should you choose to withdraw after October 15th for a full-year (or February 15th for a half-year), you will be responsible for full tuition payments. In order to be considered withdrawn from a class or program, a withdrawal form must be completed, signed by dancer and parent/guardian, and submitted to the office. Withdrawal for medical reasons will be credited for future classes if an acceptable doctor's note is supplied. The Landing reserves the right to recalculate the dancer's tuition upon the withdrawal of a class(es) to the tuition rates at the time of the class(es) withdrawal and/or class(es) transfers. Should you choose to withdraw from a Summer program, there is a No-Refund Policy and all transactions are final.
Health & Safety
COVID-19 LIABILITY WAIVER: In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, The Landing will be taking additional steps to keep our studio space healthy and safe for our dancers, faculty, and staff. I understand that a health and liability waiver be carefully reviewed and signed by all dancers (14+), parents and guardians. I will review the guidelines with my dancer(s). This waiver will be signed once upon our first visit to the studio.
STUDIO SPACE: I understand that the viewing area will remain closed to parents and guardians of dancers above the age of 5 to limit the amount of people within the studio. Shared spaces such as storage, kitchen, and changerooms, will not be available for use. Staff and dancers are expected to wear masks when social distancing is not possible (ie. indoor common areas). Masks are optional once inside the studio.
PHYSICALITY IN CLASS: I understand that group choreography routines will be modified to omit dancer-to-dancer physical touch, as well as proper social-distancing. All studio spaces have been broken up into coloured squares that have been measured to accommodate social-distancing standards. Dancers are expected to remain within their square for the entirety of their class, and exit the studio in a single file, safe manner. There will be no hands-on teacher corrections in class.
TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS: I understand that if dancers, or anyone in their immediate family has traveled outside of BC in the past 14 days, they will be prohibited from entering The Landing premises until self-quarantine is complete.
CLASSROOM CLEANLINESS: I understand, as outlined above, all dancers will have to sanitize their hands prior to entering the studio, as well as upon exiting. Uniforms and dance wear will be laundered as often as possible. I understand that all classes will end 5-7 minutes early in order to ensure that the studio can be properly cleaned prior to the next class starting.
FORCE MAJEURE: The Landing will not be liable for failure or delay to perform obligations under this Agreement, which have become practicably impossible because of circumstances beyond the reasonable control of The Landing. Such circumstances include without limitation natural disasters, acts of terrorism; war; government acts or orders; epidemics, pandemics or outbreak of communicable disease; quarantines; national or regional emergencies; or any other cause, whether similar in kind to the foregoing or otherwise, beyond the party's reasonable control. Written notice of a party's failure or delay in performance due to force majeure must be given to the other party no later than five (5) business days following the force majeure event commencing. Should a force majeure event occur, The Landing reserves the right to a "Change of Service", which may include switching to classes to 3 possible options: Online, Half Online Half In-Person, In-Person, based on the specific circumstances and Provincial, Federal, and/or health department guidelines and regulations.
Credit Policy
Those who hold Covid tuition credits, with the Landing Dance Centre, may use their credits towards 20-21 tuition fees. Upon registration for a class, credits will be discounted from the yearly fees, and noted on individual invoices. Under the no-refund policy, unused credits will not be refunded, and will incur a monthly fixed 5% handling fee, of the original amount, until the credit is used or depleted, starting January 1st 2021. Credits cannot be transferred between dancers.
Those who participate in Advanced Company Choreo, and holding competition credits from the 2019-20 season, will be credited against the company choreo tuition fee, up to a maximum of $350. Those dancers opting out of company choreo and company programs will incur a monthly fixed 5% handling fee, of the original amount, until the credit is used or depleted, starting January 1st 2020. Competition credits can only be applied to competition fees or company choreo 20-21. Again, credits are non-refundable and cannot be transferred.
