It is important that every student feels like a dancer when attending classes. Therefore, correct uniform must be worn at all times in order for them to dance with confidence, poise, and to their full potential. Dancers not meeting the required dress code may not be permitted to participate in class. Hair must be neatly secured off the face and neck for all classes. Dancers should arrive dressed for class with all necessary accessories and shoes in a dance bag. The dancers's name should be on every item, especially shoes and bags. The Landing Dance Centre will not be responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced items. No jewelry, chewing gum, food or drinks, (other than water) are allowed in either the studio, or bathrooms. Please do not send younger children to class with toys or costumes. This is unfair to other dancers who abide by the dress code. No jeans are to be worn to any class, at any time... including Hip Hop. Respect for the director, instructors, staff, studio curriculum and fellow dancers is EXPECTED of all dancers, parents and siblings. The reception and viewing area is available to parents while students are attending class and to dancers waiting for their class to begin. All young children must be supervised by a responsible adult. The Landing Dance Centre is not responsible for any injuries, or for children left at the studio unsupervised, before or after class. We ask that parents of young children not 'hang out' at the studio doors as this is very distracting to the dancers and instructors in the class. It encourages the children to look to the parents and not focus on the instructor. It also makes the more anxious child upset if their parent is not within sight. There will be opportunities throughout the year for parents to watch and participate in their child's class. All instructors and staff are approachable and sensitive to any queries or problems that may arise. We are always available to speak with parents or students.
