In order to maintain the highest standards for our school, we need your help to create an atmosphere that is friendly, positive, and professional. Please review the following policies.
Always be respectful and courteous of your classmates and fellow parents. We promote a friendly and supportive environment that is conducive to learning.
Consistent attendance is imperative. Missing classes disrupts and slows your child's progression through the curriculum.
Tardiness should be avoided, as it disrupts the class and can increase risk of injury to dancers. Dancers who are more than fifteen minutes late will not be permitted to participate in class, but encouraged to sit and observe.
No food or drink (aside from water) is allowed in the studios. Please restrict all eating and drinking to the Cafe or outside.
Please do not leave personal items in the hallways. Students should use the dressing room cubbies, and leave valuables at home.
Running, shouting, or any sort of horse play is prohibited at Cary Ballet and Everything Dance. Please be mindful of the busy parking lot.
No cell phones will be allowed in class. In case of an emergency, please contact the office and we will be able to pull your child from class.
Rules for Parents:
Please do not enter the studio at any time. The studio is a classroom and the distracting of students and teachers should be avoided.
The windows are great for occasionally checking on your child, but please do not stand outside of the studios during class time. Each year we have Parent Observation week during the first trimester where you will be able to observe your child's classroom experience.
Please remind your children to wait inside the building for their ride to arrive. If you are delayed, you may call the front desk and we can relay the message to your child.
CBC Dress Code:
Below you will find the dress code for all CBC Students. Students who fail to comply with the dress code will receive two warnings, after which failure to comply will result in the student being asked to observe class.
No leg warmers, skirts, sweatshirts, trash bag shorts, etc.

If your child misses their regularly scheduled class, we encourage them to make up in a similar class. We do not credit accounts for any missed classes. Children may make up classes in their current level or a level previously completed. This policy is to ensure the safety of your child and the structure of our rigorous program. All genres of dance build upon movement, and taking classes your child has already completed will only strengthen their technique and progress.
If you know your child will be unable to attend class for an extended period of time, it is your responsibility to communicate your plans to your child's teacher as well as the office, and to track missed classes in order to make them up in the future.
Withdrawing your child from any class requires the submission of a formal withdrawal form. There will be no refunds. Failure to complete a withdrawal form will result in a delinquent account. The official date of withdrawal will be the day the office is notified or the last day of attendance in any CBC activity (including participation in school or company performances), whichever is later. Accounts will be billed for classes until the day a withdrawal form is completed and received by the office.
If you wish to change your dancer's class day or time, you must submit a transfer request form through the office. This is to ensure your family, your child's teacher, and the office staff are all fully aware of any changes. Please note that once registered, it is up to the discretion of CBC Faculty whether a class transfer will be permitted. Class sizes, time of year, dancer's progression through the curriculum, and more will all have an impact on this decision.

Level Placement Policy
CBC's class schedule is designed to provide comprehensive training from beginning to advanced levels of ballet and jazz. After the completion of Primary Ballet II, our students have the option of enrolling in our Pre-Professional Track classes or our Recreational Track classes.
Recreational Track classes meet once a week and are a great way for dancers of all levels to strengthen their technique and be a part of CBC.
Students who enter our Professional Track will be placed according to technique level by our faculty. All students progress cognitively and physically at different rates. Some dancers may spend more or less time in certain levels. This is all a part of the learning process! Our faculty continually evaluates each individual dancer's progress and needs, and will make class adjustments accordingly. Please refrain from requesting level changes for your dancer. Endless amounts of thought and consideration go into each placement decision and are never taken lightly. Dancers are placed with their long term progression in mind.
