REGISTRATION: An annual registration fee of $30 for single student, $45 for 2 or more children in a family is due at the time of sign-up and are non-refundable. Incidental fees such as recital tickets, costume fees, extra rehearsal fees, etc., are NOT included in tuition & registration fees and will be set as needed. Tuition and Registration fees are subject to change.
TUITION: Monthly Tuition is processed electronically set up as an auto-pay, drawn on the 5th of each month. The auto-debit can be set up through a credit card or debit card with the Visa, Mastercard or Discover logo. The number of days that classes are in session are totaled to produce an average MONTHLY tuition cost. The tuition amount remains the same from month to month, regardless of how many weeks are in a given month or when holidays fall. Classes and/or teachers are subject to change without notice. A 10% prepay discount is available to those who wish to pay in advance for the full year.
Return payment or check fee is $30. Delinquent Accounts: Accounts delinquent more than 30 days accrue a 10% charge/month on delinquent amounts. Accounts with amounts delinquent more than 60 days may be dropped from classes.
It is assumed that your enrollment will continue month to month. You are responsible for monthly tuition billed to your account until the school year comes to an end in June. If you wish to terminate enrollment or withdraw from a class, ONE MONTH NOTICE IS REQUIRED. A Withdrawal Form must be filled out and signed by the 5th of the month, to be effective the 5th of the following month. You agree to pay tuition for the classes you (myself/son/daughter,etc) are enrolled in up until the final cancellation date. This notice requirement includes ALL classes that dancers are enrolled in. Example, if your dancer is enrolled in Ballet & Jazz and would no longer like to take Jazz, one month's notice must be given in writing and the withdrawal form must be filled out one month prior, even if your dancer will continue to be enrolled in the Ballet class. In the event of a withdrawal on prepaid annual tuition, the annual tuition discount will be forfeited in the refund and a 5% fee will be assessed on the tuition amount to be refunded to cover administrative costs, transaction charges, etc.
ATTENDANCE: In the event of missed classes, tuition will not be refunded. Students have the opportunity to make-up any missed classes by attending another class, in that Session, at their level, within 30 days of the missed class. Students are responsible for attending all classes regularly. If a student fails to attend class for 4 consecutive classes, they may be removed from the class roster and in order to re-enroll you will need to pay a $15 re-enrollment fee. Re-enrollment will be contingent on space availability in the class. The last month of classes (following the Spring Gala recital) is used to evaluate and place students for the following regular Session. Failure to attend may impact class placement until evaluated.
TARDINESS: Classes are constructed in a logical manner to warm up and develop the necessary musculature and skill to attain proper technique. Missing the first exercises puts a student in jeopardy as improper warm-up can result in injury. If the instructor deems it appropriate, a student more than 10 minutes late may be asked to sit out for the day and observe. This is to prevent injury and minimize disruptions of the learning experience for the other class members.
DRESS CODE: All students should be dressed appropriately for their specific class - please refer to Parent Handbook. Students not properly attired may be asked to sit & observe class. Appropriate shoes are required for all dance classes - no street shoes on dance floors. Hip Hop requires shoes that are worn ONLY in class - NEVER outside. Avoid strong perfumes or cologne as they could be overpowering to your classmates and a distraction for everyone. Please be sure all dance items are marked clearly with your child's name. NSD is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Dancers should wear their hair controlled for class so that the instructor can see the line the neck and head have in relation to the body. Long hair should be tied back. For ballet, no pony tails or hanging hair - it should be in a bun or wrapped braid, short hair should be held back with a barrette or band, so that it will not interfere with learning.
