I understand that to remain enrolled in the assigned Division, the student must commit to attend the minimum number of classes per week. To improve technique, prevent injury, and to perform in a quality manner, consistent attendance is necessary.
I understand that if a student has too many absences and tardies and cannot make up these classes, he or she may be moved to a lower division. This decision is at the discretion of the director.
If a student is tardy by 10 minutes (or more), they will not be permitted to participate in that class. Division 2-5 Students will be required to sit out and observe class while taking notes. Punctuality is crucial.
Students arriving late by any number of minutes must confirm with the instructor before attempting to join the class. This decreases distractions and increases productivity and respect.
I understand that dance is a physical activity, and as such instructors may occasionally need to use physical touch to help facilitate proper training and safe execution of skills. All efforts will be made to verbally communicate corrections, but in some cases, students may need to be touched to clarify proper positions and movements. If for some reason your student cannot be touched under normal circumstances like this, we expect you will communicate that with us in advance. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
I understand that a Lost and Found bin will be located at the studio, and emptied as frequently as once a month. Any unclaimed items still in the bin at that time will be donated. I understand the importance of writing my student's name on any items of clothing so that they are not lost.
I understand that no street shoes are to be worn on the dance floor. I understand that dance shoes should not be worn outside. I understand that students should wear street shoes whenever they leave the studio to prevent injuries on bare feet.
Parents will not accompany their students into the studio classrooms, nor will they disrupt class by opening the door to talk to their student or the instructor except in the case of an emergency.
Cell phones belonging to students must remain on silent in the dressing area and can only be used during class time with instructor permission. While in the public waiting area, I understand the importance of keeping phones on silent and taking voice calls outside. Parents and siblings are to be quiet and respectful as possible during class times.
Any food brought into the studio will be restricted to a designated area and should be of non-messy nature. Healthy non-messy snacks are acceptable. Please be aware that some of our students are allergic to peanuts, so peanuts (or peanut products) are not acceptable snacks for the public areas.
I understand that no one is permitted to share or post choreography online without the director's permission.
I understand that parents/guardians are permitted to leave the studio during class time, provided they return on time for pick-up. In fact, due to easily congested waiting areas, I understand that parents are encouraged to drop-off students and return at the end of class in a timely manner, whenever possible.
Late pick-up of a student (without previous coordination with OKCDC staff) may warrant a $15 fee.
Tuition is due on the 1st day of each month. Payments received after the 5th will be subject to a $20 late fee. If payment becomes past due by more than 30 days, your student will not be allowed to participate in classes or performances until payment is received in full.
Tuition is calculated from a 10-Month School Year & divided into monthly payments. Because of this, monthly rates do not change because of holidays or the length of the month.
Monthly tuition is not prorated for any reason. However, absences (due to illness, injury, trips, etc.) may be made up within the month of the absence, pending instructor approval. Pre-approval is required.
Private Lesson cancellations require 24-Hour Notice or they will be subject to charges.
30-Days Written Notice is required to drop classes without being charged.
A non-refundable enrollment fee of $35 is due at the time of enrollment. For families with more than one student, every additional student is only $20.
I understand that certain auditions, performances, and ensemble participation may incur additional fees. I've referenced the Tuition Info Guide (available by email or in-studio).
I understand that no refunds will be made for payments made to the studio. Any overpayment will be added to your family's account.
Dress code requirements will be strictly enforced.
Each Division is required to follow a class-specific dress code, including hair, clothing, and shoes.
A copy of the dress code can be found online on our website, in the studio, or by emailing email@example.com
