Voice Lesson Policy
VOICE LESSON POLICIES
Voice lesson policies are designed to protect time and payment from both the student and the teachers. In order to provide a consistent training program that is efficient and productive it is vital that students attend their scheduled lesson times.
PRIVATE VOICE LESSON 24 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY
If student cancels more than 24 hours in advance, they may schedule a make-up lesson with their teacher. If student cancels less than 24 hours in advance, they are not eligible for private make-up lesson. If teacher cancels in less than or more than 24 hours, teacher will schedule a make-up lesson. This policy is to accommodate for vacations and/or events through the summer season. GROUP VOICE STUDENTS cannot privately make-up missed lessons, they must attend another group voice lesson time to make it up. It is the responsibility of the student to schedule and attend make up lessons. If student does not attend all 4 lessons or make up lessons by the end of the month, account will still be charged for the next month. All make up lessons must be completed by the last day of the season semester.
TARDIES
If a student is tardy the time is lost. If a teacher is tardy, the teacher will make up the time either through adding time to the end of any lesson or arranging to meet early with the student.
SCHEDULED LESSON TIME
It is essential that students attend their assigned lesson time, determined at the beginning of each semester, if this time must be changed it needs to be done through emailing either Executive Director, Shelby or Kayeli. backstageperformingartsutah@gmail.com
Switching lesson times around excessively will not be permitted.
SEMESTER CONTRACT
Lessons are locked in by semester, students will be expected to complete all months of tuition and lessons for the semester enrolled. Any drops during the semester, will still have to pay for the following months until the semester ends.
Behavior
The Backstage Performing Arts policies are designed to promote a positive, safe, organized experience for students and their families. Our goal is for every child to thrive in a positive, nurturing environment that fosters learning, growth, and achievement.
Cooperative, respectful behavior is expected during classes, rehearsals, performances, and activities. Respect for instructors, staff, and other students will be consistently shown. No discrimination, profanity, bullying, or disrespectful behavior is allowed either in person or by means of social media. A student or family that violates this policy may be dismissed from Backstage Performing Arts.
We will follow a Three Strike Rule. On the 1st strike the student will be asked to sit and watch. The 2nd strike will require a parent to supervise class until the behavior subsides. On the 3rd strike, the student will be required to withdrawal from their current class.
If parental involvement is necessary to correct any behavior, parents will be notified by the teacher and invited to a class session to evaluate and assist their student. We love and welcome all students, but must be able to focus our time on teaching for the benefit of each student in the class without devoting extensive time to improving or monitoring the behavior of any individual student. Any student asked to withdraw from class will be charged nothing further in fees and tuition.
Attendance
It is important that students are consistent and punctual in their attendance to promote a positive learning and performance experience for themselves and their classmates. It is expected that when a student registers for a class, he/she will continue to attend from the beginning date through the end date of the class. Late arrival or early departure from class is discouraged, and no tuition reduction will be given for missing classes. After the first class session, if a student withdraws, the full tuition for the month of withdrawal will be charged, plus a $25 administrative fee to process the withdrawal. There will be no refund, either total or partial, of the registration fee or tuition for the month students attended class.
Communication
All communication, including class, rehearsal, performance, and payment information, will be conducted through email. A current email address is, therefore, required to register for a class, and if there is a change in email address, it is the responsibility of the student's primary contact to make the needed change to the email address using the Customer Portal. If you haven't received any emails by the first day of classes, it is the primary contact's responsibility to contact Backstage to make sure the email is correct in the system.
Photo/Video Release
On a regular basis, publicity and in-class photos that include Backstage students will be taken and used for marketing and advertising. By agreeing to this policy, you grant permission for Backstage Performing Arts to use class, performance, and other photos that include your students, past or present, for such purposes, including on the website, social media, and other traditional advertising and marketing channels. The undersigned hereby consents to the use of these photographs and/or videos without compensation, by Backstage online or in any editorial, promotional or advertising material produced and/or published by Backstage.
Safety
Student safety is foundational to a successful learning experience. To help ensure student safety, we request that you show up on time to pick up your student from classes, rehearsals and performances. If the student is not picked up within 15 minutes after class commences, then the teacher will call the emergency contact that was provided on their registration. Five minutes after a class ends, teachers are no longer liable for the students safety. During classes, rehearsals and performances, teachers will do their best to provide a safe and fun environment for each individual student and parents will be notified if there is ever an emergency.
Tuition
WE WILL AUTOMATICALLY BILL THE CREDIT CARD ON FILE EACH MONTH FOR THE AMOUNT OF TUITION DUE, INCLUDING ANY OUTSTANDING BALANCE FOR PREVIOUS MONTHS. It is expected that you will remain current in paying tuition. If there are fees remaining to be paid (tuition, registration fee, costume fee, etc) a week prior to the end date of the class, Backstage will charge the credit card you enter at registration for the unpaid fees. There is a 30 dollar registration fee that will be charged to your account with your first payment for that semester of classes.
