We ask that parents of students ages 10 and under accompany their child to the building to be signed in before class begins. We do not allow students under age 10 to leave the building without a parent (or other adult). If someone else will be bringing your child to class (or picking them up), please let us know ahead of time via email at email@example.com. Waivers must be signed by parent for student to walk to car unattended for our junior classes taking place on Tuesdays/Thursdays. This waiver must be signed for all students under the age of 13 at the start of each semester. Students participating in AWIP programs may not leave the AWIP class/rehearsal site without authorized adult permission or signed waiver. I take full responsibility for my child as soon as they leave the building and will not hold AWIP, Immanuel Lutheran, Cardis Furniture, Tolman High School, or any of our affiliated churches or schools responsible for any harm that comes to them once they are released from the building. A Work In Progress Productions, nor its Director or staff members, shall bear any responsibility, or have any liability, for any personal injury that may result from my consent in this matter. We ask that parents of student under age 10 accompany their child to the building to be signed in before class begins. We do not allow students under age 10 to leave the building without a parent (or another adult). If someone else will be bringing your child to class (or picking them up), please let us know ahead of time via email to either firstname.lastname@example.org or by telling the building supervisor (the AWIP staff member on duty) when you arrive. If you have a child taking classes next door at GCT and you would like them to walk over to that building, you must sign our waiver and inform the building supervisor about it. We recommend they do not walk alone. Waivers available in Parent Lounge.
I agree to the following payment terms for all classes and productions that my child is registered for.
I agree to make all payments for registration, tuition, costume, materials, script and other fees that are listed in the description at time of registration.
I agree to the add/drop policy that allows for refund through the second class only, minus the non-refundable registration fee. I am aware that, to drop or change a class that, I must complete the drop/change form that is available on the website.
I agree to make all payments in full by the beginning of the semester, unless, I opt for the payment plan which allows for payments to be made as follows:
---Fall Semester Classes and Productions
-------3 Equal Payments due as follows: September 1st, October 1st, October 23rd*
---Spring Semester Classes and Productions
-------3 Equal Payments due as follows: January 1st, February 1st, March 1st*
*failure to pay in full by third payment date will restrict students from performing in productions and/or register for additional classes. Parents are encouraged to contact bookkeeping if hardship occurs and on time payments are an issue.
I understand that at time of registration there is no guarantee of scholarship amounts or availability. Those with financial need are welcome to apply for scholarships. Deadlines for scholarships are as follows: Fall Semester-September 1, Spring Semester-January 1. Scholarship funds are a set budget and failure to apply before deadline could mean all funds have been awarded for the semester. Scholarships will be awarded prior to drop/change deadline.
Parents should contact bookkeeping if any discounts, AWIP Bucks or scholarships have not appeared on their account prior to the second payment due date. After the second due date in the payment plan option has passed all amounts still due will be considered a true and accurate accounting of money owed to AWIP by parent/family.
A Work In Progress Productions holds weekly classes at Immanuel Lutheran Church (647 N. Main Street, Attleboro, MA). AWIP is thankful for the generous use of this rental space but is not affiliated in any way with the ULCA or ELCA. The mission statement for A Work In Progress Productions can be located in the 'about us' portion of our website.
A Work In Progress Productions makes use of the Community Room at Cardis Furniture Store (999 Newport Ave, S. Attleboro, MA) for Masters Classes as well as audition workshops and select rehearsals due to the size of the space. Students are accompanied to the room by a parent and instructed to remain there for the duration of the class, unless specific permission has been granted to leave. AWIP protection policy for the safety of children is always followed. While we do not pay rent to Cardis, we do publicize their generosity and encourage families to become valued customers of this establishment who provides this space for non-profit organizations such as AWIP.
AWIP occasionally uses the sanctuaries at Grace Baptist Church in Attleboro, Crossway Church in Franklin, Good News Bible Church in Attleboro, Faith Christian Center in Seekonk, Centenary Methodist Church in Attleboro, United Methodist Church in East Providence, and other churches. Other students, staff, and personnel are present at times when we are there. We have no affiliation to these churches or schools. We follow standard safety protocols to ensure that our own kids are accompanied by staff members at all times
A Work In Progress Productions holds all MainStage Productions and Junior Production Performances on the stage at William E. Tolman High School (150 Exchange Street, Pawtucket, RI). Our partnership with the faculty and staff at Tolman began in 2013, and the professionalism, generosity, and hospitality shown by the Pawtucket School Department as well as all those on-site at the school has been superb. We make every attempt to hold rehearsals after school hours and ensure the safety of AWIP students by controlling entrance through the theatre doors and holding all rehearsals within the confines of the theatre space, which requires a key for entrance. All Tolman students must be supervised by Tolman personnel at all times in the theatre, and AWIP staff ensures that our students are always accounted for during rehearsals. We understand that situations outside of the building in the city of Pawtucket may occasionally arise, but this is beyond the scope of our control. We do not have any hesitations about the facility and always seek to keep the safety of AWIP students foremost in our decisions. Our partnership also extends to selected students benefitting from our expertise in the arts, as Tolman does not currently have an extensive arts program in their curriculum. Jen Roca, Executive Director, works very closely with the Principal and Music Director at Tolman when inviting students, who meet specific criteria, to participate with AWIP MainStage in any capacity. By agreeing, you confirm that you fully understand the information regarding AWIP venues used for classes & production.
