The following must be provided to Castle Academy prior to my child attending: Health Appraisal Form or Physical signed by child's doctor, Copy of your child's immunization history, Written authorization for emergency medical care.
Castle Academy is closed the following days:
New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, Christmas Day and the week between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Castle Academy requires 30 days' written notice of intent to withdraw. It is your obligation to make full payment of tuition until the date emailed, by you, to the main office.
The Academy closes at 6:00 P.M. After 6:00 P.M (or 3 P.M for half day program) a late fee will be charged of $1.00 per minute for the first five minutes you are late, and $25.00 for every 10-minute interval after that.
Please do not bring sick children to Castle Academy. If your child becomes ill while at Castle Academy, we will use the following criteria to determine when children need to be sent home: *fever *inflammation of the eyes *vomiting *diarrhea *frequent coughing *excessive nasal discharge *unknown rash *communicable disease.
If your child needs to be sent home because of illness, you or someone you have authorized must pick up your child within 30 minutes. Your child needs to be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to Castle Academy.
Medication will not be given to your child unless the proper forms are provided by your child's physician. This applies to over-the-counter medications as well. All medication must be provided by the parent and be in its original container, with the child's name written on it. Prescription medication must also be in its original container, labeled with the child's name, name of drug, dosage, and directions for administration, date and physician's name. If you have given your child medication at home, please tell the teachers so that we can watch for side effects or adverse reactions.
We are so excited to have your children with us while they are out of school or in our before and after program. At Castle Academy we have extremely high behavior expectations for our children. We will be going on many fun field trips and doing lots of great activities here at the Castle. During such times, we expect your child to be well behaved and use good manners. We will not tolerate disrespect and misbehavior. Every morning we discuss the plan for the day and what is expected of your children. If you are asked to sign an incident report for misbehavior, your child will miss the following field trip. If we feel that an incident is reoccurring or severe enough, we may not allow your child to go on several field trips. We have these same high behavior expectations for our before and after school program.
We are trying to teach children to resolve conflict with each other calmly and verbally. We are also trying to teach them about personal space and keeping their hands to themselves. If a friend hurts your child and it turns out they were instigating a problem, whether physically or verbally, they will be held just as accountable as the person who hurt them and they will miss the field trip as well.
Items and behaviors not allowed at Castle Academy include, but are not limited to: fighting, inappropriate language, disrespect for others, threats and name calling, cell phones, electronic equipment of any kind, weapons (fake or real), and inappropriate materials (books, music, pictures, magazines). We also require that hats and hoods only be worn outside.
We are all looking forward to an exciting year with your children filled with lots of fun and we appreciate your support of our policies.
