Financial Agreement
The goal of the Enlightening the Dark (ETD) is to provide affordable options as a local outreach to homeschooling families. ETD operates on a very controlled budget and an integral part of maintaining that budget is the timely receipt of all registration fees, tuition and resource fees, as well as a commitment from our families so that we can commit to our instructors for their time. In order to accomplish this, we have adopted the following tuition payment policy. This policy will be strictly adhered to and enforced by the Program Manager and HCF board.
T U I T I O N
Tuition is calculated per family and is billed monthly for 10 months (September-June) unless you choose the Semester or Annual Payment Plan. If you pay your tuition in full by September 1, you will receive a 5% discount.

A $20.00 late fee will be assessed after the 25th of the month for payments not received or that may be declined. If an account becomes 30 days past due, students will not be allowed to attend class or participate in school activities until the past due balance is paid. A $20.00 charge will be assessed for any payments returned by the financial institution. All payments will be required in cashier's check or money order after the second returned payment.
P A Y M E N T S
First Tuition Payment will be drafted on September 1. If we have not received your tuition payment by September 1, we will charge the debit/credit card we have on file. Failure to pay the first month's tuition by September 15 may result in student(s) being removed from the class roster and placed on a waiting list until tuition is received. This could jeopardize your student's enrollment in classes. Your student will not be able to begin classes until tuition is paid.
I am aware of the stated Tuition and Fees and understand that payment will be charged to my account on the 1st of each month for the Monthly Payment Plan, otherwise payment is due in full by September 1.
I understand and am aware that this is a financial commitment to Enlightening the Dark for the entire school year, and I will be responsible for payment of the entire tuition per the guidelines above.
M A K E - U P C L A S S E S
Credit will be given at the end of the year for classes cancelled by Enlightening The Dark. No refunds will be given when a student misses classes for sickness, vacation, etc. Students will be responsible for contacting the instructor for assignments.
D R O P P O L I C Y
You have until September 1 to drop a class in which a student is registered. You will receive a refund for any fees paid less the non-refundable registration fee. After September 1, you will be responsible to meet the financial agreement for the year. Please see our financial agreement. We realize that unexpected things happen in life. Each situation is reviewed, prayed over and discussed by the Board before making final decisions regarding this financial obligation.

While Enlightening the Dark provides structure and accountability, it is still the parents' responsibility and duty to direct the student's education and account for the student's education, progress, grades and growth.
Parents should be sure that their student(s) attend classes and arrive on-time as well as be picked up on time. If you can't be on time, please be sure to contact your instructor and/or the Program Manager.
Parents should ensure that their student(s) come to class adequately prepared to fully participate in the class activities. This includes having assignments and projects completed, making sure that dress code and other guidelines are being met, and that the students have eaten breakfast, have lunch/snacks, and water.
Parents should keep communication and texting during class time to a minimum. We want you to reach your student when needed, but they do tend to get distracted if mom or dad texts. If there is an emergency, please contact the Program Manager.
Parents should discuss with your student(s) the importance of being where they are supposed to be at all times. If you choose to pick your student up early, you must let the instructor(s) know. We take the safety of your children seriously, please communicate with us.
Parents are welcome in the classroom anytime, but we do ask that you schedule that with the instructor(s).
HCF Core Beliefs
The following is Homeschool C.A.R.E. Foundation's (HCF) Core Belief Statement. As a Student Outreach Program of HCF, Enlightening the Dark (ETD) operates according to these beliefs. All board members and instructors are required to commit to and guide the program according to their interpretation of these Core Beliefs. While enrollment is open to everyone who homeschools regardless of their personal beliefs, families must respect HCF's Core Beliefs in all communication, actions, and behavior. Therefore, by registering with ETD, all families are acknowledging that they will not seek to undermine sincerely held beliefs of other members and will abide by the Code of Conduct and respect the following Core Beliefs.
1. God created us in His image and for His glory and every human should strive to live for God's glory.
2. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory and all deserve eternal punishment.
3. In his great mercy and grace, God sent forth his only Son Jesus Christ to provide for sinners a way to eternal salvation through the death, burial and resurrection of His Son.
4. Eternal life is a free gift to all who will trust in what Christ did on the Cross and claim him as Lord and Savior.
5. Children are given by God as a stewardship to the parent and not to the state, and parents have the right and authority to teach and educate their own children.
6. God designed marriage as an exclusive relationship between one man and one woman and all intimate sexual activity outside of this marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise, is not according to God's plan. and therefore any student who is actively engaging in any intimate relationship outside of this design will not be eligible for enrollment in HCF Student Outreach Programs.
7. God wonderfully creates each person as male or female and rejection of God's original design for that person, and acting in such a way that denies God's original design and requires others to deny who you are is not according to God's plan. Therefore, any student who chooses to openly identify with a gender other than that with which they were born will not be eligible for enrollment in HCF Student Outreach Programs.
8. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitude directed toward any individual is not acceptable and not glorifying to God or in line with the beliefs and principles of the Homeschool C.A.R.E. Foundation.
I have discussed these Core Beliefs with my student and understand and acknowledge them. I understand that while I may not hold the same Core Beliefs, any student participating in an HCF Student Outreach Program can not undermine these beliefs. HCF values relationships with your students. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child's life.
